Being Different

We must move beyond tolerance, beyond acceptance, to celebration of our diversity. Only in celebration do we truly embrace the gifts we each are, and empower our own lives with the gifts of others. - Jim Chandler

People have one thing in common: They are all different.

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special.

Be daring, be different, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose and imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.

You either have to be first, best, or different.

A different language is a different vision of life.

Be different--if you don't have the facts and knowledge required, simply listen. When word gets around that you can listen when others tend to talk, you will be treated as a sage.

It is possible to be different and still be all right.

We all make mistakes, but everyone makes different mistakes.

When we lose the right to be different, we lose the privilege to be free.

You have two choices in life: You can dissolve into the mainstream or you can be distinct. To be distinct you must be different. To be different, you must strive to be what no one else but you can be.

Everybody is ignorant, only on different subjects.

In odd days like these...people study how to be all alike instead of how to be as different as they really are.

It is far more delightful to be fond of the world because it has thousands of aspects and is different everywhere... for every divergence deserves to be cherished, simply because it widens the bounds of life.
